Slip Sliding Away

I woke this morning with a strong sense that heading to Indonesia via Geelong was an accidental blessing.

Leaving home was the first stripping away of all we own, are comforted by and where we find places to forget or hide. Everything at home that is safe gone.

Coming to Geelong meant we still had familiar things around us, like family, foods, beds and surroundings that were familiar, however, we had been removed from home.

The next step for us is no family, nothing that we would normally take comfort in or hide in. The next bed we sleep in will be unfamiliar, the room unknown, the neighbours ... well we will be strange people in their neighbourhood.

For Connor and Kenzi, probably for Trin and I, this has been a good staged process.

Today is going to be a long day, but the first steps down the un-trod path.

Triniti is jumping. Connor is nervous. Kenzi is talkative. I am sedate. We are all excited!
